MOVA stands for Men of Valuable Action, and our mission is to reach the men of Sandtown and the surrounding communities; and serve them in ways that encourage self-discovery, enabling them to become the essential members of the community they were created to be.

The objectives of MOVA are:

1.To serve men who have been incarcerated and are returning to Sand-town and help them become productive and morally driven members of society.

2.Identify men who have a desire to invest their wisdom and experiences into the lives of other men.

3.Provide events on an annual, monthly and weekly basis that foster strong comradery and unity.

4.To assist the men of the community in combating social, cultural and economic barriers that impede their ability to become mutually effective, participatory members of society.

5.To help with coordination of services that offer resources.
